Coverme-seat

Practical Protection, a Washington-based corporation has invented an innovative, immediate fix to fight back against the fear of mass shootings. The invention, named the CoverMe-Seat, is a portable seat that can change into a high-caliber bulletproof vest. In all, the transformation takes about three or four seconds. CoverMe-Seat secures the wearer’s front and back from some of the most powerful handgun bullets and with an optional rear plate it can stop ammo fired from the commonly-used AR-15, which enables it to be more protective than most standard vests, backpacks & jackets.

“I’ve never met a person who likes thinking about how to protect their family from gunfire,” said the Founder of Practical Protection, Aaron Ansel. “The elected officials in this country need to implement common-sense firearm laws, which we totally endorse, but prior to that, we wanted something that was available now.”

The seat is more protective than bulletproof backpacks because it shields the front and back of the person wearing it. Also, with the back plate, your rear is shielded against AR-15 fire, which is something that practically no other options can offer. CoveMe-Seat weighs less than six pounds, or about the same as a bag of potatos.

One of the Co-Founders, Andrew Enke is an engineer who previously designed and developed spinal equipment. “I was careful to engineer the CoverMe-Seat to be simple but extremely effective and fail-save. We designed the CoverMe-Seat around the idea that most people are not going to decide to wear a bulletproof vest every morning. We wanted to surmount the idea that bulletproof protection requires compromise.”

The seat can be pre-ordered for $100 for a limited time at covermeseat.com/purchase.
